About this gym

Opened by none other than Olympic legacy ambassador Lord Sebastian Coe, the City Sports Centre was newly built in 2013 and is right in the heart of the City Campus (NTU students union building). Whether you're a complete beginner or a fitness fanatic, at NTU you'll find the facilities and support you need to get the most out of your training. Nottingham Trent University City Gym was fully refurbished during the summer of 2024, located over two floors, the gym has 70 station and is fully air conditioned gym, allowing you to have a great work out. There is also a highly qualified and dedicated team of fitness instructors, who are present to provide help, support and guidance to all gym users. The equipment, supplied by Life Fitness includes: - treadmills, cross trainers, PowerMill, various exercise bikes (including Hammer Strength air bike and Wattbike), Concept 2 rowers and SkiErg. The lower floor includes 2 core workout areas designed for functional training. Both floors of the gym boast numerous squat racks, single & dual pully machines. With the strength floor (upper) having a large range of cable assisted strength equipment and free weights. With specialised Hammer Strength equipment such as hack squat, hip thrust, plate loaded strength machines and dumbbells from 2kg to 50kg. The centre has Boditrax: precision body composition technology which can be utilised at extra cost. The sport and fitness facilities include sports changing rooms for all sports centre user.
