About this gym

A part of the community for over 40 years, Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre has moved with the times. Regular improvements and refurbishments make this a popular local gym, pool and activity centre. The gym has been recognised with the ‘Best Local Sports Centre’ prize in the Smooth FM awards, which cover all of London. Easily reached from the A1, the centre is in a green oasis of parks and sports fields in this busy part of north-west London. It is right next to the well-known Barnet Copthall running track. Customers of this gym especially like the clean fresh feel and the regular investments made. The large gym has 100 separate fitness stations, including an extra 20 new machines for cardio work. This means that there are plenty of treadmills and rowers to help you work off that office stress. In response to feedback, there is also a large free weights area. This now features additional heavier weights and the Olympic bars needed to use them. The centre also has three swimming pools, two of which are 25 metres long. A fitness studio houses a wide variety of group exercise classes, including yoga, pilates and circuits. A swimming club and a diving academy are both based here, with activities for all ages. (Extra charges apply) How to find us: The centre is located on Champions Way, Hendon, just to the west of the M1 and A1. Access is via Page Street and other local roads. The nearest stations are Mill Hill East (Northern Line) and Mill Hill Broadway (National Rail), both about 30 minutes walk from the leisure centre. Buses 221 (Edgware Bus station – Turnpike Lane Station) and 240 (Golders Green station – Edgware Station) stop on Pursley Road, about five minutes walk from the centre.
