The 5 Best Gyms in Glasgow City
Glasgow is a big place with lots of options. Here are our five favourite gyms in Glasgow for your ease of use.
The Glasgow Argyle Hotel
The Glasgow Argyle Hotel gym is part of the Best Western hotel group. They have all the best in high-end, high-tech, and high quality equipment.
If you are passing through Glasgow City as a tourist, you may find this is your best option. It is open to Hussle members as well as hotel residents but, more importantly, it lets you workout in opulence.
We recommend this gym for anyone with a taste for the finer things in life.
The Glasgow Argyll Hotel gym comes with its own swimming pool and jacuzzi area. They have a free weights section and multiple dumbbells of all shapes and sizes.
There are cross trainers, running machines, spin bikes, and plenty of benches. The sauna allows you to have a luxurious gym experience, while the steam room lets you tone while you work out.
This Glasgow gym also has plate lifting machines, cardio-vascular machines, and resistance training equipment.
The only things they seem to be lacking in are personal trainers. If you want to perk up your mental health in style, though, this gym will do it. You’ll find it on Washington Street in Glasgow City Centre.
They have towel hire for £2, you will also need a pound coin to operate the lockers. This gym in Glasgow does have free parking but you should let a member of the leisure team know.
The Village Gym, Glasgow
The Village Health and Wellness Centre is well known throughout the UK. They have gyms up and down the country, and do well at setting consistently high standards in each of their establishments. Their Glasgow gym has a swimming pool for your leisure, showers complete with hairdryers, and lockers for everyone.
The Village Gym in Glasgow is open from 6am Monday to Friday until 10pm and from 7am until 9pm at the weekends which is ideal for city life. This gym in Glasgow City operates in the digital world too, where you can access MyZone and keep track of your fitness goals.
The gym itself has a stretching area, a mat area, built-in TV screens for a digital workout, and tracking technology. They have resistance machines and cardio machines, as well as separated areas behind screens so you can enjoy the gym, safe from the dangers of Covid-19.
We recommend the Village Gym for those visiting and living in Glasgow alike. It has those free weights, a full Technogym, and every type of weight bench you can think of. You will find it at 7 Festival Gate. They give you up to four hours of free parking at each facility.
The Energie Fitness Centre in Cambuslang
Although not in the city centre, Energie Fitness is already a firm favourite on the Glasgow gym scene for Hussle members as our reviews show. Workout in style and improve your mental health at the same time, all by using their luxurious facilities. It’s also great for boxers and for those who like group sessions.
Energie are a community focused gym. If you want a gym in Glasgow where you become a member of a team and a part of something bigger than yourself, we can’t recommend them highly enough.
They have skilled personal trainers who can help you achieve your fitness goals, extensive group exercise options and they are ideally located in Cambuslang town centre. Energie is open Monday – Friday, from 6 am – 10 pm, and Saturday-Sunday from 8 am – 6 pm.
They have free parking, state of the art resistance machines, a studio for group and free exercise, and changing rooms. There is even a ‘yard’ in which you can practice track and running. The yard includes punch bags for boxers, too.

There are benches, plate presses, there are step machines and exercise bikes. It really does have it all and it is presented impeccably.
The Western Club Gym has changing rooms and showers for your use, but not towel hire. It isn’t as high-end as some of our other selections on this list. In fact, this is a down-to-earth gym for a down-to-earth workout.
